We had a great experience at Mayan Kitchen Food last night. Food allergies: when we mentioned one person in our party had food allergies, the executive chef came and personally took our order - patiently and warmly answering questions and suggesting alteratives. Vegan/Vegatarian options: Lots of options here. The trumpet mushrooms "scallops" in garlic sauce and fried hibiscus flower "calamari" were both tasty and had the texture of the seafood alternative. Flavor: the fried appetizers were fresh, hot and flavorful. The small plates had sophisticated blend of flavors. Quantity: we orders two small plates plus 1/2 appetizer per person and found it filling. Overall, would recommend.

I was visiting some friends at Apple, and found this spot nearby as I was looking on Yelp. I tried a small assortment of things and here is what I ordered: 1) Bao Bun w/ Yucatan pork, pickled onions, cilantro and sriracha aioli. This was pretty good, nice Mexican/Chinese fusion item, must try in my opinion - 5/5 2) Wagyu Beef Corn Empanada - This was fire! - 5/5 3) Chip n Dip Queso Soy Chorizo Fundido - This was one of the best chips and dip I've had. 5/5 4) Yucantan Fries - made with cassava root, cilantro, dried shallots w/ chipotle aioli sauce. This was my first time having cassava root, and it was delicious. 5) Churrasco Blue Corn Taco came with steak, pickled onions, cilantro, and creamy avocado. This was pretty fire if you ask me. 5/5 Overall this place was delicious, I liked everything I ordered. It's a new style of food that I haven't had so it was great. I'll drop by again when I'm in Sunnyvale and try other items they have to offer. Taste - 5/5 Food presentation - 5/5 Cleanliness of establishment - 5/5 Customer service - 5/5 Order time/quickness - 5/5

Sitting in the center of historic Murphy Avenue, Mayan Kitchen has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (perfect on a summer evening). Empanadas 9/10: We tried the vegan and beef empanadas and loved them both. Crisp exteriors paired with flavorful, juicy filling made these a great appetizer, though I wouldn't have minded eating a bunch as a meal. Cochinita Pibil 8/10: This slow-cooked pork dish is good and borders on a 9/10 with its appealing presentation, fall-apart pork, and cilantro rice. I wish the pork had been a little less greasy as the fat congealed on the bottom, but I really enjoyed it regardless. The pickled onions give a nice hit of acid. Served with Tajin dusted jicama and beans. Potato Croquettes 7/10: I really enjoyed these but the cranberries were wholly unnecessary. I love croquettes and cranberries, but not together. They added a sweetness that clashed with the wonderfully savory croquettes. It's plated with tomatoes that are dressed in a cheesy, almost mozzarella or burrata flavor profile. Easily a 8.5/10 if it weren't for the cranberries. Aqua Fresca (seasonal Dragonfruit) 8/10: On the sweeter side, but still a really tasty drink. Their agua Fresca flavor changes throughout the year. Vegan Cheesecake and churro were good. Our server heard that we were hoping for a churro with no cream and was able to get one for us (they are cream-filled by default). Overall, the service was attentive and this spot caters really well to vegan diners and non-vegans alike!! They did forget one item on our order, but I won't dock any points for that :)

OMG! If I lived closer I'd eat here all the time! We had a most delicious lunch here today. We tried a bunch of yummy dishes (drinks, appetizers, small plates, entrees and dessert) and everything was beyond delicious. So many amazing choices but the stars included the vegan calamari tacos, the vegan empanadas, and the dessert churros. So so so delicious! Service was super friendly and the restaurant couldn't be cuter.

I came here for lunch today with a coworker for the first time. It did not disappoint, everything was delicious and I enjoyed the mocktail drink too! I would come back!

Fresh and flavorful. Cozy and warm ambience. Top notch service. Our food recommendations came from the Chef himself. No wonder we enjoyed all the dishes. We tried Elotes, Queso Fundito, Tucca root fries, Conchinita pibil, Polo pibil, Chipotle prawn amongst a few. What stood out for me was the fresh food, tender meat and well balanced spices. Will highly recommend the Elotes, Conchinita pibil and the churro stuffed with cream cheese! This place won't disappoint. Must try!

Visited for a friends birthday and it was really good! I called and had a few dietary questions and they were so thorough - even sending me photos of the ingredients. Really appreciate the authenticity and dedication to customer experience, especially for dietary needs.

Amazing flavors! This place offers some delicious and different flavors than usual Mexican restaurants. Bonus points for vegetarian selecti

Taste I had the chips n salsa with a friend, the chips were very hard (not happy about this), but the corn that went with it was good. I also had my fav which was the crispy plaintain taco, I would come here again just for the. The jackfruit soft tacos were good as was my steak taco. Service The wait wasn't too bad, I just wish they gave us more plates in the beginning, but all-in-all, it was fine. Ambiance This place can get packed as it's a popular place! I'd come again to try other dishes.
